Common Questions

common question image
    • Magellanic penguins are a South American penguin species living along the southern coasts of Argentina, Chile, and the Falkland Islands. They construct their nests near the rocky beaches, an easy waddle to the ocean to hunt for food for their young.

    • Magellanic penguins have one of the longest lifespans of any penguin species, often living 20+ years in the wild. Some even reach close to 30 years old!

    • These warm-weather birds dwell on beaches in South America (no ice for them!) and are identifiable by the white band stretching from each eye and meeting at the throat. Their typical penguin tuxedo (known as counter-shading) helps them be successful hunters and stay safe from predators in the water. To prey below, their white belly blends with the sunlight shining above; to predators, their black feathers help camouflage them in dark waters. Magellanic penguins are also monogamous, returning to the same mate each year—the female recognizes her mate by his unique call.

    • Your plush had quite the long journey to get to you! If it appears squished from lack of legroom during shipping, give it a good fluff to help it return to its normal, cuddly shape. Still need help? Email us at support@myfahlo.com.
